Groups across the country will be holding marches and rallies on Saturday May 1, calling for reform of the nation’s broken immigration system and an end to the raids and repression that are terrorizing immigrants and their families.
In Hempstead, the march will begin at the corner of Front St, and North Franklin St. at 11 am. The march will go at 12 noon to a parking lot on Washington between Fulton and Front and the rally will last until about 2:30pm. Buses will be leaving to join the march in Manhattan. If you are interested in reserving your seat, please call the Workplace Project at 516-565-5377. The price is $15 per ticket, just to cover the costs of the bus.
