Outreach

We conduct constant and creative outreach to bring new people into our work. Staff and members visit laundromats and day laborer shape up corners, churches, and ESL classes, talking to immigrants about their lives and the possibility of change.

Workers Rights Course

Our Workers Rights Course has served as a model for organizations nationwide for its participatory approach to teaching immigrant workers their rights and providing an introduction to organizing.

Basic Rights Orientation

Every Tuesday night at 6:30 pm, we offer an open orientation for new workers who may have questions about their rights on the job and to let them know about the organization and how it works.

ESL Classes

Our committed volunteers have provided classes in English as a Second Language to many of our community members. These classes often focus on practical use of English for communication on the job. Currently we have classes on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 6pm-8pm.

Trainings

We often invite speakers to conduct trainings on issues of interest to our members and community, including: taxes, bank accounts, immigration law, discrimination, housing rights, and many other topics.
